Riku's classmate who sits next to him on his left in class is a very large and muscular man. He often wears a shirt with the name Maddog etched on it. Swearing to protect Sayuri from other boys, he introduces himself to Riku by trying to hurt him, (but is instead severely beaten by Hiyokokko), thus being convinced that Riku is worthy enough to protect Sayuri. He is now often seen with Riku and his friends, doing many things with them. He spent his summer with them working part-time jobs as well as a visit to the beach. He sides Yusuke and the rest of his male classmates to plan for a maid cafe for their class during the Cultural Festival. He spent time with Yusuke and Itta to watch the play acted by Sayuri and the concert after that. During the school trip, he tries to team up with his male classmates in hopes to get a chance to see Sayuri and the other female classmates naked in a spa and etc. He hopes that his academic results will be good enough for him to go to his third year so that he can graduate with Sayuri together as well. Kyohei is rather saddened by the fact that Riku is about to be transferred out and did something for him on the last day of his schooling here, allowing him to meet Sayuri successfully.
