Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Episode List
(06-10)

06. "Seven Swords"
"セブンソード"

In South Africa, a mercenary named Ali Al-Saachez surveys the damage to the mining site caused by Lockon. He then gets a phone call from the private military company PMC Trust and is informed that he has to return to the home base in Moralia. At the AEU's Central Parliament, politicians debate the issue of sending troops to Moralia, which will cause an armed intervention from Celestial Being. They finally determine to send troops to Moralia as a unified decision of the whole AEU. On the bridge of the Ptolemaios, Christina tells gunner Lasse Aeon that a week in confinement should be more than enough for Allelujah, especially since he was trying to save people. In his cell, Allelujah thinks about what happened earlier and wonders who that person was. When Tieria enters, Allelujah asks if his confinement is over, and Tieria comments that he doesn't seem to have learned his lesson. He doesn't think that Allelujah should be a pilot, but Sumeragi arrives and explains that Allelujah's abilities are needed. She says that Moralia's president is secretly meeting with the AEU leadership, and Tieria says that's a direct challenge to Celestial Being. Sumeragi orders Allelujah and Tieria to prepare to descend to the surface. At the HRL's low orbital station, a scientist concludes that there's nothing wrong with Soma's body, and Sergei asks what would cause her to act as she did. The scientist concludes that Soma's quantum brain waves were externally affected by someone else with enhanced glial cells, but he's put a device in her suit to isolate her brain waves. At the AEU's capital in Paris, Marina meets with a French minister of foreign affairs. The minister says he can only promise food supplies because they AEU needs technicians to finish its orbital elevator, but also because Azadistan is politically unstable. Saji knocks on Setsuna's door to offer him extra food from Kinue, but Setsuna says he's going out. He comments that the incident in space was quite the disaster, and Saji says that he'd never expect to have been saved by Celestial Being. Elsewhere, Sumeragi, Christina and tactical operator Feldt Grace ride the orbital elevator down to Earth, and Feldt reviews the file on Moralia. Founded in 2284, the country borders France, and although it has a small population of 180,000, it has more than 3 million foreign workers, and much of its economy is dominated by PMC Trust. Elsewhere, Billy and Graham discuss the Moralian situation, and Billy comments that the AEU must certainly also be trying to capture a Gundam. Patrick arrives at a Moralian air force base and buzzes the tower with his Enact. Hong Long informs Wang that the AEU and PMC Trust are performing a large joint military exercise. At their hotel, Sumeragi agrees to let Christina and Feldt go shopping while she goes drinking. Setsuna arrives at the uninhabited island and meets with Lockon and technician Ian Vasty, who has come to deliver new equipment for the Gundam Exia and Gundam Dynames. Allelujah and Tieria descend from above in their Gundams and approach the island.

Sumeragi has a drink in a bar and meets with Billy. Billy wonders how many years have passed since they were at the university, and he tells Sumeragi about his current work on the Gundam investigation team. He mentions that Eifman is part of the team and has already developed theories about the particles that power the Gundams, but he refuses to discuss them with anyone. Billy asks about a certain "incident," but Sumeragi tells him she's forgotten all about him. Back at the hotel room, Christina happily examines all the clothes she bought for Feldt . Marina calls Shirin to tell her about what happened, and Shirin mentions that Celestial Being is headed for a showdown with Moralia. At a PMC Trust base, an AEU officer gives Ali a custom tuned Enact so that he can capture the Gundams. Later, Sumeragi, Christina and Feldt meet with Wang and Hong Long to prepare for the upcoming operation. Eifman asks Billy about his meeting with "Kujoh," and Billy says that she's forgotten about the "incident." Graham overhears them and wonders if they're referring to the strategic planner from the "incident." As the Gundams approach Moralia, Lockon orders everyone to follow the plan and keep an encrypted channel open for any mission updates from Sumeragi. Moralia declares a state of emergency, and as Saji watches the situation on the news, he says it isn't right that Celestial Being first saved people and is now starting a war. He doesn't think they'll change the world, and their actions will only spawn further hatred. In his hotel room, Alejandro tells Ribbons that he hears the sound of the world's evils. In the skies over Moralia, Allelujah takes out the attacking air forces. On the ground, Lockon uses his new full shield to block attacks from a squad of Hellions before he hits them with his sniper rifle and beam pistol. Tieria uses his cannon to take out a large number of Hellions. Patrick's Enact and a group of Hellions approach, and he's eager to take on a Gundam. Tieria fires again, destroying the Hellions and grazing Patrick's Enact. Elsewhere on the ground, Setsuna uses his new GN blades to slice apart a group of attacking Hellions. Suddenly, Setsuna comes under attack from Ali's Enact, and Setsuna realizes that his moves are being predicted. Ali tells Setsuna that his skills as a pilot are lacking, and Setsuna recognizes the voice and recalls Ali from his days as a guerilla. Setsuna can't believe it, and Ali declares that the Gundam is his.

07. "Unrepayable Spirit"
"報われぬ魂" (Mukuwareru Tamashii)

In 2299 A.D., Ali tells a group of children in the Kurdis Republic that they will offer themselves to God in a holy war, but first they must do something: kill their own parents. A young Setsuna, then known as Soran, kills his parents and joins the other children in Ali's holy war. In the present, Ali attacks Setsuna, and he comments that the Gundam Exia is a good suit, but that the pilot is lacking. Setsuna is shocked when he hears Ali's voice and recognizes it. Ali uses the blade end of his rifle and charges at Setsuna. As they fight, Setsuna is reminded of a knife fight he had as a child with Ali. Setsuna then recalls killing his father and hearing his mother plead for her life before killing her. The Gundam Exia's chest begins to glow, and Setsuna uses the increased power to cut through the blade, which Ali surmises is the Gundam's true power. Setsuna then uses the flashing light on the Gundam Exia's head to send Ali a signal to get out of his cockpit. Setsuna exits first, and Ali is surprised to see that the pilot is a kid. He takes off his helmet, and Setsuna is shocked when he sees Ali's face. He draws a gun and is followed by Ali, but Lockon fires his sniper rifle between both suits, which forces Ali to retreat. Lockon attempts to snipe the Enact as it takes off, but Ali dodges and escapes. Lockon begins to chew out Setsuna, but Sumeragi interrupts over the radio and tells them to skip a couple of phases and complete the mission. On the ground, Tieria mows down a bunch of Hellions, while Allelujah shots down some in midair. He comments that Setsuna has screwed up the plan again, and Tieria tells him to shut up. A Moralian military commander is informed that they've lost about half their combat force in just two hours. Watching the battle map on a monitor, Graham comments that the Gundams are overwhelming. Sergei also watches the battle and concludes that Moralia should surrender. A British foreign minister discusses a plan with other officials to assist Moralia. AT PMC Trust headquarters, several executives meet and are shocked that they're experiencing such losses to four mobile suits. Christina and Feldt report to Sumeragi that the Gundams have reached the rendezvous point and are starting phase six. The Gundams fly single file through a narrow ravine to avoid detection. Setsuna wonders why Ali is working for PMC Trust and what happened to his God. Tieria tells Setsuna that if he takes any further unilateral actions, he'll shoot him down. Setsuna asks Tieria if he's willing to lose a solar furnace, and Tieria says he's just protecting the Gundams' secrets. Ali joins up with his squad and wonders who the pilot of the Gundam Exia is. He recalls its fighting style and wonders if it's someone from his time in the Kurdis Republic, but he casts that thought aside just as quickly. The Gundams emerge from the ravine and destroy all the mobile suits defending the Moralian military headquarters. After a tense moment, the Moralians fire out a white signal flare of surrender.

Feldt confirms for Sumeragi that Moralia has surrendered, and Wang congratulates Sumeragi for the operation. Sumeragi says something unexpected happened along the way, and Wang comments that everything unfolded the way Veda predicted. Sumeragi asks Wang if she knows how many people died as a result of the operation, and she tells Wang that it's probably at least 500. Wang asks Sumeragi if she was aware of this eventuality when she joined Celestial Being, and Sumeragi answers that she was. Eifman tells Graham and Billy that the battle is over, and Billy speculates that the battle will help the AEU drum up support for increased militarization. Eifman comments that no matter how brilliant their victories, Celestial Being will always be excluded from the world. Graham asks Eifman if Celestial Being is on a path toward self-destruction, and Eifman replies that it looks that way to him. At JNN headquarters, Kinue is surprised to hear the news that the battle is already over. Saji and Louise watch a JNN news report from the Moralian capital of Liber, and a reporter named Ikeda explains that stray ordnance and mobile suit crashes have caused high number of civilian casualties. Ribbons congratulates Alejandro, but Alejandro tells him the true thanks belong with the Gundam Meisters, and he wonders how the world will respond now. A PMC executive yells at Ali for his actions during the battle, and Ali tells him that some good news will be coming his way when he watches the news. On the uninhabited island, Lockon punches Setsuna and knocks him to the ground. He says that the identities of the Gundam Meisters are as a high a level secret as the solar furnaces, and though he demands and explanation for Setsuna's actions, Setsuna offers none. Tieria pulls a gun on Setsuna and says that he's dangerous because his foolish actions have endangered all of them. Setsuna then pulls out his gun and says he won't be taken off the Gundam Exia because he's a Gundam Meister. Allelujah points out that they were all picked by Veda, so there must be a reason why Setsuna is a Gundam Meister. Tieria wants to know what that reason is, and Setsuna says the fact that he's still alive is the reason. In Tokyo, Saji and Louise go clothes shopping, and suddenly a bus explodes in front of them. Onlookers declare it a terrorist attack, and Saji and Louise run away from the scene. Ian tells the Meisters that a series of terrorist bombs just exploded in several major cities around the world. Allelujah asks about causalities, and Ian explains that the bombs were placed in dense public areas, and at least 100 people are dead. Wang calls Lockon and tells him that the unknown terrorists have issued a statement declaring that they will carry out indiscriminate attacks as long as Celestial Being performs interventions. Tieria says that such things won't stop them, and when asked, he says he doesn't care about civilian casualties. Lockon grabs him by the collar, and Tieria asks Lockon if he hates terrorism that much. Lockon asks what's wrong with that, and Tieria answers that as far as the world is concerned, they're terrorists themselves. Setsuna then says that since the terrorists have instigated a conflict, Celestial Being will intervene.

08. "Indiscriminant Retaliation"
"無差別報復" (Musabetsu Houfuku)

The mysterious terrorists strike again, this time setting off a bomb in an Italian subway. Allelujah reads a statement from the terrorists in which they claim to be the voice of the people, rising up to fight those who seek to oppress the world through military force. Thinking of the terrorist attacks, Lockon is reminded of the terrorist attack in Ireland that killed his parents when he was a young boy. He vows to take down all the terrorists himself. On the Ptolemaios, navigator Lichtendahl Tsery discusses the terrorist attacks with Lasse, and Lasse concludes there's nothing they can do from space, so they should leave the job to the Gundam Meisters. Back on Earth, Wang and Hong Long arrive by hovercraft at her mansion. On a yacht near the deserted island, the four Gundam Meisters meet with Ian, Sumeragi, Christina and Feldt . Christina wishes they could contact Wang's agents directly, and Tieria says that as the attack force they don't need to know everything about the terrorists. Hong Long examines the intelligence gathered by the superpowers, and a terrorist attack in Shanghai marks a hit for all three superpowers. Hong Long concludes that it's an international terrorist network, and Wang comments that it could be sponsored by various nations. Sumeragi orders the Meisters to get into position with their Gundams so that they can attack the terrorist bases when they're discovered. In space, Sergei hears a report on the death toll in Shanghai. Soma comments that Sergei shouldn't involve himself with the terrorist attacks, but he says that since the attacks are the result of Celestial Being's actions, it's possible they'll get involved, and that does concern him. Graham flies on patrol with Howard and Daryl because he's restless and can't stand aside during the terror attacks. In Scotland, Marina tells Shirin that her meeting with England's foreign office has been delayed as a result of the attacks. Shirin reports that a conservative parliamentarian was attacked by the reformists, and it's only a matter of time before riots break out. In Tokyo, Saji speaks to Louise over the phone, and she tells him that her mother is insisting she return to Spain. He hangs up when Kinue gets home, and she's exhausted from the busy news cycle. Saji says that he didn't think events in the rest of the world concerned him in Tokyo, but his opinion has changed following the bus bombing. He thinks it's impossible to eliminate war from the world, and Kinue wonders if Celestial Being thinks the same way. She believes that must have some ulterior motive under their stated goal of eradicating war. Tieria arrives in Australia, while Allelujah stands by in an HRL desert. Lockon waits in a South American forest, and Setsuna arrives in the mountains of Scotland. He thinks about the war and recalls a young boy who believed he was fighting on God's behalf and was killed. Setsuna picks up a terrorist bombing and heads into the city with a rental taxi to find the suspect. Setsuna chases the getaway car on a highway, and Marina sees him as her limo passes by. Setsuna shoots at the terrorists, but they manage to escape in their bulletproof car when Setsuna stops to line up a shot. A police officer pulls up and asks what Setsuna's doing. Marina's limo pulls up, and a bodyguard tells the officer that Setsuna is with them.

In a park, Marina asks Setsuna if she did something unnecessary. She explains that she was surprised to see someone from her part of the world in Scotland. She asks Setsuna if he's from Azadistan, but he catches her by surprise when he answers that he's Kurdish. She then introduces herself, and he gives her the name Kamal Mazirif. She asks him if he's sightseeing, and he begins to walk off. One of the terrorists is captured, and Hong Long picks up some intelligence that the terrorists are part of a radical bioconservative group named La Edenra that operates out of Europe. Marina tells Setsuna that she's on a diplomatic trip to gain access to the solar energy system. If she doesn't, the chaos will grow and eventually Celestial Being will appear. Although she thinks war is bad, she believes that Celestial Being are a bunch of fanatics who are causing innocent people to die as a result of their interventions. She thinks their actions are too arbitrary because they don't bother to negotiate, and Setsuna says that people are still dying while she negotiates. He then notes that it was Azadistan that destroyed the Kurdish Republic. Marina says that both countries attempted to negotiate, and Setsuna says that people still died even then. Marina asks Setsuna if he fought during the war, and he answers that he's still fighting every day. She wonders if he's a conservative sent to assassinate her, and he says that killing her wouldn't change the world. Setsuna then reveals that he's a Gundam Meister and says that Celestial Being will appear in Azadistan if the conflict continues. Hong Long then picks up leaks from intelligence agencies regarding information on the terrorists. The AEU intelligence director leaked the information because they can't use military force in other countries, but Celestial Being can. The Gundam Meisters launch, and Sumeragi decides to leave everything to them while she heads to the beach with Christina and Feldt . Tieria attacks a terrorist base in the Marshall Islands and annihilates it. Lockon attacks a mountain base and declares that he won't show any mercy today. Setsuna attacks a transport ship and is pulled underwater by an old style HRL mobile armor. After breaking free, he stabs the mobile armor with his beam daggers and slices it apart with his beam sabers. As Marina flies home, she thinks about Setsuna's revelation and concludes that he must have been joking. Just then, the Gundam Exia appears in the sky and flies by the jet.

09. "A Powerful Nation's Dignity"
"大国の威信" (Taikoku no Ishin)

Lockon takes flowers to his parents' grave and finds that someone has already places flowers there. A man who looks exactly like Lockon watches him from the nearby tree line. Nearly four months have passed since Celestial Being first appeared, resulting in about 60 interventions. The number of conflicts around the world has lowered. The Union and AEU decide to retaliate only if Celestial Being attacks a nation within their borders, but the HRL has decided to actively oppose the group. In space, Sergei addresses the members of the task force Choubu and explains that they have two goals: destroy Celestial Being and capture the Gundams. Elsewhere, the Gundam Dynames docks with the Ptolemaios, followed by the Gundam Exia. Setsuna wants to assist with the maintenance, but Ian tells him to get some rest. The HRL deploys thousands of small duplex communications units, which gives them 80% coverage of their geosynchronous orbital range. Because the Gundams' GN particles disrupt communications, if a group of probes suddenly go dark, that's where Celestial Being is. An officer named Ming asks Sergei if the plan can work, and Sergei comments that it'll have to because they can't stage such a resource-draining operation too many times. In Tokyo, Louise is surprised by the sudden arrival of her mother. Saji introduces herself, and she says that she's taking Louise back with her because the world is too dangerous now. She takes Louise away, and Saji is unable to say anything clearly in protest. At JNN headquarters, Kinue asks her editor for permission to conduct an investigation on Aeolia to determine Celestial Being's true intentions. A news report announces that energy-starved Azadistan is receiving assistance from the United Nations. At the Azadistan airport, Marina meets with the UN's representative: Alejandro. Marina thanks Alejandro, but he says there isn't much they can do because of budgetary problems. Shirin is suspicious of Alejandro because at this time the UN has nothing to gain from helping Azadistan. On the Ptolemaios, Lichtendahl finds Christina alone on the bridge because Feldt wasn't feeling well, so he offers to take over. Lockon walks into an observation room and finds Feldt crying. Christina attempts to eat in the mess hall, but the oppressive silence from Setsuna and Tieria makes it too awkward. Lichtendahl fails to notice a warning on Feldt 's console, and Ming pinpoints an area where probe communication was lost. Sergei orders the task force to launch, and several Lao Fu mobile suit transports take off from the station. Sergei cautions Soma to avoid a repeat of what she did last time. Feldt tells Lockon that her parents were second generation Gundam Meisters and that today is the anniversary of their deaths. Because Celestial Being members are sworn to secrecy, she doesn't know anything other than the fact that they're dead. Lockon then reveals that his real name is Neil Dylandy and that his parents were killed in a terrorist attack in Ireland. When Christina returns to the bridge and sees the warning on Feldt 's console, she realizes they've been found.

Sumeragi sets course for the orbital ring and orders the Gundam Meisters to standby. Ian reports that the Gundam Exia is ready, but the Gundam Dynames can't be uses because of leg generator repairs. Sumeragi is annoyed because that's the suit she needed the most, and she orders Tieria and Allelujah to launch first. Ian attaches a temporary peg leg on the Gundam Dynames so that Lockon can launch. Sergei concludes that the Gundams' launch point is a spaceship, and he decides to respond to their diversion with one of his one. Three of the Lao Fus launch their Tierens, and then two of them detach their bridges and switch to autopilots while the Tierens form a line behind the first ship. The Ptolemaios reaches the orbital ring, and Christina picks up four ships closing in. Sumeragi wants to contact Tieria and Allelujah, but they can't because of the orbital ring's electromagnetic interference zone. Sergei sees a computer-enhanced image of the Ptolemaios and is surprised that Celestial Being is large enough to have such equipment. Sumeragi concludes her tactical analysis and realizes that the enemy isn't responding as she expected. She was hoping that all four ships would close in on them, allowing Allelujah and Tieria to perform a pincer attack. However, two ships broke off to engage the Gundams. Sumeragi believes that both those ships probably already launched their mobile suits, meaning that Allelujah and Tieria are wasting time on a pointless attack. Allelujah examines the Lao Fu wreckage and sees no mobile suits. Lockon asks Sumeragi what the basis is for her prediction, and she explains that the same tactic was used in a battle 18 years ago by Sergei, the "Wild Bear of Russia." Setsuna launches in the Gundam Exia, while Lockon stays on deck with the Gundam Dynames to snipe enemy targets. Christina wonders if they'll be ok because the ship isn't armed, but Lichtendahl says they have the Gundams. Lockon shoots at a Lao Fu and misses, so he concludes that his rifle's calibration is off due to the change in mass of the missing leg. The Lao Fu fires a volley of missiles, and the Ptolemaios deploys a GN field when Setsuna and Lockon are unable to shoot all the missiles. The unmanned ship closes in for a kamikaze attack, causing Christina to panic and freeze up. Lockon destroys the ship with small explosives, but the debris hits the Ptolemaios due to Christina's inaction. She continues to panic, and Feldt shouts out that they will live on. Suddenly, 36 Tierens appear from behind where the Lao Fu was. They begin to scatter when Setsuna and Lockon attempt to shoot them. Sumeragi examines the situation and realizes that she's fighting Sergei and that he intends to capture a Gundam. As Allelujah returns, he's caught up in a minefield. More suits launch from the fourth Lao Fu, including Soma's Tieren Taozi. Her proximity to Allelujah triggers a reaction, causing him to feel intense pain in his head.

10. "Operation Gundam Capture"
"ガンダム鹵獲(ろかく)作戦" (Gandamu Rokaku Sakusen)

In Tokyo, Louise meets her mother for dinner and brings Saji along. Louise's mother says she doesn't remember inviting Saji and tells him to go home. In space, a group of Tierens disperse whenever Setsuna attempts to attack them, and he realizing they're stalling for time. As Sergei's squad approaches Allelujah, he orders them to use carbon nets to capture the Gundam Kyrios. Allelujah begins to scream in pain when Soma approaches, and Sergei recognizes his voice over the radio from the incident with the gravity block. He wonders if Allelujah is reacting to Soma and recalls what the scientist told him about someone with enhanced glial cells setting off Soma's crazed reaction earlier. The Tierens continue to play with Setsuna, and another group attack the Ptolemaios, but they're too close for Lockon to snipe. Sumeragi wonders how she could've been so careless. The captured Gundam Kyrios is loaded into the Lao Fu, and a group of soldiers attempt to get a tomographic scan of the cockpit's interior, but they can't get a clear image. Outside, the Tierens suddenly come under attack from Tieria. Tieria detects the Gundam Kyrios' signal from inside the Lao Fu and realizes it was captured. He takes up a firing position to shoot the ship and declares that Allelujah was also unfit to be a Gundam Meister. Soma then attacks Tieria, and her Taozi's speed allows her to fly circles around the Gundam Virtue. She closes in and fires several shots at point blank range, which are deflected by the GN field. Tieria then fires his cannon and destroys the Taozi's right leg. Sergei orders his pilots to assist Soma and capture the Gundam Virtue. Inside the Lao Fu, a soldier fires up a heat saw to cut open the Gundam Kyrios' cockpit. Allelujah wakes up, but suddenly the Hallelujah personality takes over. The Gundam Kyrios then breaks free and destroys the Lao Fu from within. Sergei realizes he's made an error in judgment, but he can't go back empty-handed, so he orders his men to capture the Gundam Virtue no matter what. The Tierens close in on Tieria and take advantage of the cool down time after he fires his bazooka. They fire out grappling lines to entangle the suit, as well as a fast-hardening gel that stops the joints. Tieria attempts to fire his bazooka, but Soma kicks it away. Two Tierens grab onto the cannons so that Tieria can't fire, and when he attempts to open his GN field spreaders, he finds that he can't because of the wires. Soma moves in to attack, and Tieria purges his armor, revealing the Gundam Nadleeh underneath. He then grabs his two cannons and immediately destroys six Tierens, which causes Sergei to order a retreat. Tieria is furious that he had to reveal the Gundam Nadleeh so early and begins to cry because the plans are being derailed.

Setsuna and Allelujah manage to destroy nine Tierens, but the rest retreat when a signal flare is fired. Sumeragi tells the bridge crew not to relax because the battle is still on. Sergei laments that he wasted so many men and equipment on the mission and couldn't even capture a single Gundam. The Gundam Kyrios approaches from the front, and Hallelujah says that Soma messed with his quantum brain waves too many times. He then says that she must be the same as him - a monster with a reinforced body and a messed up brain. Hallelujah hits Soma with several low power blasts from his beam machine gun, and she wonders if he's just toying with her. Ming then charges in and tells Sergei to retreat with Soma because they're both vital to Choubu's mission. He slams his Tieren into the Gundam Kyrios, but Hallelujah knocks him away and stabs his cockpit with the heat-inducing pincers of his shield. Soma wants to help Ming, but Sergei tells her to retreat. Hallelujah laughs at the fact that they abandoned their comrade and ran away. Ming tells Hallelujah that someday they'll receive retribution for disrupting the peace and order of the HRL. Hallelujah asks what kind of peace and order can come from a society that modifies humans to fight as soldiers. Hallelujah is angry that Soma got away, so he decides that he won't let Ming die easily. He activates the pincers' heat and begins to melt Ming alive inside the cockpit. Hallelujah laughs and asks Ming if he has any last words. Inside his head, Allelujah asks him to stop, and Hallelujah says that he's doing this because Allelujah is unable to. Hallelujah agrees to stop, but then he says he was kidding and proceeds to destroy the Tieren. Allelujah regains control and wonders why Hallelujah loves to kill people so much. He wonders if that's his own true nature, and if so, he's not a human being. The Ptolemaios closes in on the Gundam Nadleeh to begin retrieving it. Christina calls Allelujah and hears him crying. Sumeragi leaves the bridge and begins to cry because she made another big mistake. After watching the battle, Wang wonders why the Gundams are the perfect embodiment of Aeolia's ideas, but the Meisters themselves are so imperfect. Ribbons asks Alejandro if it's ok for him to do nothing, and Alejandro answers that he's just an observer who can see them through to the end, even if it's to a path of destruction.
