What inspires me as a photographer? That's not an easy question to answer but fundamental to what drives my passion for photography.

I am inspired by the beauty of the natural world and at the same time by the more industrial, impersonal nature of the manmade world, even to the extent of recording the most mundane aspects of daily life. On a more sentimental level it could be recording special moments in my life with family and friends.

Film or digital photography? They both have their advantages. It all depends on what you photograph and what message you want to relate. Film, particularly black and white film, can capture—even create—a particular mood which is difficult to replicate in the digital medium. Digital photography is convenient and allows inexpensive experimentation.

I ultimately pursue photography for my own interest, however, I am very pleased if others derive pleasure from it.
