A Wedding Fairytale...
Martin & Carol

Planning Our Wedding...

The Betrothal Negotiation:
Martin met Carol's parents and discussed the details of the wedding. After much talk, they decided to make it a real simple affair with just close relatives and very close friends. Among the things discussed, were:-

- Auspicious Dates
- The Betrothal Gifts
- The Rituals/Customs/Ceremonies
- The Wedding Banquet

Auspicious Dates:
26 Nov 2003 (Wed) - R.O.M.
30 May 2004 (Sun) - "Guo Da Li" (Exchange of Betrothal Gifts)
27 Feb 2005 (Sun) - The Wedding Banquet

The Betrothal Gifts:
- Dowry for the bride
- Jewellery for the bride
- Suckling Pig
- Bridal Cakes
- Bridal Fowls
- Bridal Basket
- Ritual Gifts

The Rituals/Customs/Ceremonies:
- "Guo Da Li" (Exchange of Betrothal Gifts)
- Setting The Bridal Room
- Hair-Combing Ceremony
- Fetching The Bride
- Tea Ceremony
- Exchange of Vows Ceremony

The Wedding Banquet:
The first thing we did was to get a Bridal Studio Package that will take care most of the hassle like the gown, bridal car, studio photos, floral arrangements, make-up, etc...

Next was to get a hotel to offer a Banquet Package to host the wedding banquet and take care of all the decor, etc..

Then a committee of coordinators (made up of friends & relatives) were appointed to organise the whole wedding affair. The committee was made up of the following:

Jillian - Wedding Director & Brides Maid
Anthony - Best Man
Jacqueline - Maid of Honour
Alan - F&B Coordinator
Agnes - Wardrobe Coordinator
Jinhao - Logistic Coordinator
Anthony - AV & Entertainment Coordinator
Darren - Photographer
William - Videoman
Wei Wei - Brides Maid
Guan - MC & Ceremonial Host
Jessie & Jenny - Reception Attendants & Tea Ladies
David Chia, Anthony, William, Jinhao - "Yum Seng" Party

Bridal Studio:
- Bridal Concept

Caterer:
- York Hotel

We drafted a long list of duties for all the task bearers and we held numerous meetings. From that, you can see how hard the committee had worked to ensure that the whole wedding turned out to be an event that we will remember for our lives.
