Hinako is ten years old at first but becomes eleven in the course of the story. She is in love with Syusuke from when he saved her from three bullies who took her bag and would not give it back. She seems to want to learn how to be the girl he will like and asks Sana and Aoi for help. Hinako has a personality comparable to Aoi's, however being only in the fifth grade, she is childish as a result of her age. Hinako finds it hard to understand the age difference between her and Syusuke and is rejected by him. Despite this, her resilient character is the culprit for her frequent comebacks. She is quite disrespectful to Sana in some way, treating him as though he is her servant. She hates being called a kid as well.

Later, when her parents were thought to work over the weekend, Hinako decides to stay with Sana, demanding him to allow her to do that. Sana did not quite resist that despite the fact that he did ask her to reconsider seriously. But Hinako did not listen to him at all. Sana then find out that one of the reasons for her to do that is because she does not want to spend her birthday alone. That is why Sana decide to plan a day to celebrate her birthday. He ask his friends to help and they did. Syusuke took Hinako out after Sana lured her to go out with him to buy a present for a girl first. When they return back, the birthday party started. Sana then give the present he bought today to Hinako, letting her know that this is in the plan all along. After the birthday party is over, Hinako thanked him with a kiss on his cheek.

Hinako spent a day with them at a theme park as well, and discover that Aoi is much more childish than she is. Aoi just cannot get enough of the thrill rides here and eventually tired Hinako out who has accompanied her in every ride they took. Then they meet Asami and her cousin Youta. Initially, Youta is too shy to even greet Hinako and the others. But after a trip to the haunted house which Hinako help the terrified boy through it, Youta grew attached to her. This did not make Hinako very happy at all especially when Syusuke regard her as a kid and said that is why Youta is sticking with her. Her unhappiness can be seen showing even when she is up on stage playing hostage during a Cosplay Show.

Years later, Hinako is seen preparing to go to Nanaka's musical performance with Youta. By the looks of it, they are going out as a couple at this moment.
