Yuzuki is the homeroom teacher of of Sana's class; Syusuke, Nanaka, and Syuri are also in the same class. Whenever her students do a good job in school, such as cleaning a classroom thoroughly or bringing things to the teacher's lounge, Yuzuki will give them a piece of caramel candy, and even though she says to keep it a secret, everyone already knows that she does this. Many years ago when she was in high school, she met Sana as a child at the park and gave him one such caramel candy for trying so hard at attempting to flip over a metal bar; this is what helped her decide to give them to others.

Initially, caramels were only meant to be given to herself. When she is young, she is often at home alone due to her parents working. She yearn that her mother would just come back home early and have an afternoon snack with her but work aside, her grandmother isn't feeling well at that moment in time and her parents were too busy taking care of her and pay little attention to Yuzuki. That is why she started to play act by herself, pretending that she is both mother and daughter, having cakes and other food as afternoon snacks at first. But because she has only that much pocket money, she figure that buying a box of caramels will allow her to have afternoon snacks more often.

When she gradually grow up, she find play acting silly and decide not to do it anymore. However, this habit of hers never change. The objective did with her simply rewarding herself with caramels whenever she do good at something. That is when she meet the young Sana that the objective changes once again. She would soon realize that Sana is the boy that made her do like this in the end. She is a teacher who often defend her students especially Syuri when she had to visit the principal's office twice for different reasons. She even argue with the vice principal who is being mean to her students, accusing them of acts they have never did or simply twist the problem and say it as though they did do that. She is so angry with the vice principal that she has to stuff with food later on, urging Syuri who accompanied her to do the same. In the end, both of them almost vomited everything they had eaten a while ago on the roadside.

When Syuri and Syusuke left town, Yuzuki wonder if they would still do it if she is more capable than she is right now. Sana is there to cheer her up, telling her that she has done her best and should blame herself too much to the point of being despressed. Sana even offer a drink to her as a reward for her hard work. Yuzuki cheered up after drinking that.

Years later, Yuzuki is seen attending Nanaka's musical performance with Sana. Her habit of giving away caramels hasn't changed at all.
